Sunset after a beautiful early Autumn day in 2014. A watercolour from sketches and photos made on that day in the Val d'Anniviers. The summit of the  Besso (3667m) is divided into twin peaks, hence the name. "Besso", which means twins in the a local dialect. The Besso was first climbed by Valaisan guides in 1862.
.
The Obergabelhorn (4063m), one of the 5 majestic peaks of the Valaisan "Imperial Crown" lies at the end of the Zinal valley between the Dent Blanche and the Zinalrothorn. The summit was first reached  by English climbers and their guides in 1865.
