Machapuchare is a mountain in the Annapurna Himalaya of north central Nepal. It’s a double summit resembling the tail of a fish, hence the name « fishtail » in Nepalese. Unlike other Himalayan peaks no-one is allowed to climb on Machapuchare. It is a sacred mountain.
