An 18th century door, window and shutters on the Rue Ancienne in Carouge. Carouge was built between 1760 – 1770 by the King of Sardinia. It was constructed on a chequerboard plan, with buildings in a Franco/Italianate style, around existing trade routes from France into the city of Geneva.
